Lets take another look at the Tron Haslab. Currently it's at 989 backers, up 136 since the 14th. That puts it at 9.89% funded. It's really not looking good. Makes me wonder if we might see them do something radical before it ends as it's pretty clear this would take a miracle to fund.

Yeah it's a very odd choice. I can think of 2possibilities; smaller size is cheaper, so the cost is lower. The other is a bit more cynical. If the Haslab fails, they can recycle the sculpts as 6" ones, though reception might be sour. The Haslab itself is only for this size and accessories after all.

With the Tron Haslab not looking so hot, I was curious how it stacked up so far to the failed projects. Turns out it's passed Cookie Monster, so it's not going to be the lowest backed total at least. Still it's needs 2081 backers not be the lowest percent backed one, and it's got a long ways to go.

I can think of exactly one case where non-standard screws are used for a legit reason, and it's totally non tech related: McDonald's and other fast food toys. They typically use a triangular screwhead. They likely are used for safety reasons to keep kids from disassembling them.

Out of curiosity, have you watched the documentary the Sweatbox? It covers some of said troubled production when it was called Kingdom of the Sun. Was never officially released for obvios reasons, but it has shown up on the Internet Archive archive.org/details/Swea...

I have to ask, did yours have the issue with corroded batteries in the claw? I got a sealed one and mine was so bad the contacts were eaten through and was rendered inoperable. Rest was OK, but I've always wondered what sound effects it makes.

Got a small collection of digs off a friend today. Some Micromaster, G1 Highbrow, 6 Rock Lords, GoBots Staks, and two Bespin Luke's. Most are in fantastic condition. Gonna keep some, mostly the Micromasters, and the rest will go up on the eBay store.
