An "old dude" thing about me is I've started collecting old things. Could be a product of increased sentimentality after losing loved ones, or having a glimmer of financial stability for the first time in life, or pandemic brain making me more attached to "stuff" that reminds me of a different time.

I’ve been speechless & despondent about all of the horrors this weekend that has been visited upon people & communities. The gun violence, the antisemitism, everything else. All I can really say is that I’m so sorry & I truly hope to live to see the day when we decide to do right by one another.

If we hadn’t lost Drazen Petrovic and DC could’ve stayed in shape consistently, Chuck Daly would’ve made magic with that Nets team.
December 13, 1993: New Jersey’s Kenny Anderson finishes with 32 PTS/11 AST/10 REB in the Nets’ 110-105 (2OT) win over Miami.

Glen Rice scored 39 PTS and Rony Seikaly added 27 for the Heat. Kevin Edwards of the Nets had 28 PTS/10 REB and Derrick Coleman had 21 PTS/13 REB.

"A book is something that I imagined would forever be stuck in the endless writing process. There would always be more revisions to make, more swings for the characters, and an endless effort to heighten the stakes. Yet, here it was, in my hands." pardeeptoor.com/2025/12/08/f...

Despite overwhelming evidence that just saying “no” to the creeps pushing this works, the organizations that are supposed to be set up to protect/fight for us keep failing.
Heartbreaking. The University of Nebraska will terminate its entire Earth science department.

One of the country's most successful and respected geology & climate programs: gone.

When ideologues & politicians are threatened by the very act of studying climate change, I wonder: who of us is next?
It's over.

Despite the fact that the academic council recommended against it, despite the fact that the program brought in more tuition than it cost, and despite the fact that Nebraskans need & deserve this expertise, Earth & Atmospheric Sciences will be cut.

These guys are absolute dorks and even as a nonviolent person I think our best course of action is challenging them to public fights any chance you get,

A former coworker at NREL used to always correct people who talked about "saving the planet." She'd say, "the planet is going to go on, whether humans can still live on it is the problem we're trying to solve." Feel really bad for so many great people still there. www.nrel.gov/news/detail/...

This hire is unjustifiable from a moral OR football perspective. It obviously won’t make a difference to MSU leadership, but I hope more alums are loud about that fact and the reporters who get to ask about it absolutely grill J Batt and Fitzgerald.
I’m not a big money donor, so maybe it won’t matter, but I sent an email to their football comms person to let them know I won’t watch a minute of MSU football if they hire Fitzgerald

sure, our scandal-ridden program is trying to hire a guy who was fired for overseeing a culture of sexual assault, but it’s important to remember he sucks at coaching

Cade Cunningham had one of the most "Kobe" games I've seen in a long time last night. Not a good game at all, but such a perfect mix of absolute refusal to quit combined with enough volume to eventually be just enough.
