Chicago social studies teacher (Civics and AP US Government) and comic book writer. Indie stuff you haven't read yet (HAPPINESS IS A WARM BUN, THE KOBOLD'S CLAIM), but I bet you'd like!

Ask me about my Haymarket graphic novel.

Some new followers, so allow myself to introduce....myself.
Oh, #PortfolioDay. I'm Paul, and I've been writing since 2014. My specialty is hist. fiction, but I've also worked in fantasy, sci-fi, horror, & more. I am currently pitching a graphic novel about the Haymarket Riot, and would love the opportunity to pitch more or write a back-up or two!
This man's brain is utter goo, and I simply cannot wait until he's no longer a thing we have to deal with.
this is one of the most psychotic things Trump has ever posted

This year has been unfair, cruel, and just unrelenting. To have gotten through it is proof that you are tougher than you think you are.

Use that toughness this next year. Bring about the change we need.

Rob Reiner was a brilliant actor and director and I really have no words that can adequately describe this.

May his memory be a blessing, and may justice be done.

Agreed. There's a law of diminishing returns when it comes to gerrymandering - the more districts you try to control, the thinner your margins become.
A gerrymander is not a sure thing…

Not quite. I mean, yes. But this particular instance is a long-standing city tradition.

But still, yes. And Kristi Noem can take a long walk off a short pier.

Genuinely loved this man's work.

But...fatality. RIP.

Extrapolating from incomplete data, there exists an Ariana Pequeña.

She is 5'10", can't sing a note, but is built like an NFL linebacker and can throw you into next week.

At this point, I'm starting to assume that Mike Johnson is also somewhere in these emails.
Mike Johnson is really committed to covering up for Trump and Epstein

Yeah. Durbin was at the No Kings rally in October, up on the stage with a bunch of other politicians. Didn't speak (though I can't say whether or not he was asked), but...you know. Optics.

That's pretty much who he is at this point. Always looking for the good optics, but when the chips are down...
And the truly craziest thing abt this cave is that someone seeing the invasion of Chicago firsthand, Dick Durbin, doesn't understand this.
seems to me that those democrats inclined not to fight perceive themselves as living through a somewhat ordinary cycle of presidential overreach and backlash and not something much more significant and dangerous

Ok, let me put my civics teacher cap on.

Last night was a cloture vote in order to bring H.R. 5371 to the floor for a full vote.

There's still one more vote to be made, to approve H.R. 5371.

While I'm not hopeful, you should be leaning on your senators as hard as you can right now.

Voting seems to have stalled out right now at 56-40. Is there a point where the clock runs out?

Mamdani is going to impose Shambala Law. All New Yorkers must work towards inner peace and wisdom.
Mamdani is going to impose Shishito Law. One in every ten New Yorkers will be unexpectedly spicy.
Mamdani is going to impose Shania Law. It won't impress you much.

To be fair, the prosecutor's argument was sub-standard.
Surprising, because the DOJ doesn't muffeletta prosecutions

ah, perhaps instead of pumping millions into endless factional infighting Dem donors could invest in making local Dem organizations genuine civic spaces that can reach people during and between elections

My grandpa-in-law just passed at 95. At his shiva, we have his union books on display. They contain his membership card, as well as stamps denoting his dues payments. Very cool pieces of Labor history!

Use it. Respond to all their questions with it.

Either they will stop using it because you made it uncool, or you frustrated them to tears.
