Cruel judges are a theme in 19th - early 20th century ghost stories. Le Fanu writes two: Mr Justice Harbottle and An Account of Some Disturbances in Aungier St. M.R. James and Bram Stoker both wrote one each: Martin's Close and The Judge's House. They're all good too!

I’m old enough to remember the Bosnian war, which was regarded as bringing irredeemable shame on all of Europe. This stuff is *massively* worse than that - far more cruel, calculated and deliberately intended as cull of the civilian populace - and it’s been done with our active aid and complicity.

Everything Trump says about Omar and Somalis - they're worthless, incompetent, parasites, hate America, etc - is an exact description of himself. I've said it before and I'll never tire of saying it: one of the best things to read to understand Trump is Othello by William Shakespeare.

I've been waiting for literally years now for an official ADHD diagnosis from the NHS that would allow me to be prescribed meds. The process has already been outsourced by my local trust. I can all too easily imagine this fucking government introducing some new reactionary baffle to stop the process

It's less than a week since a national guard trooper was shot dead in DC by someone the Trump administration vetted. I know it's lame and tired and pointless to say this but... Biden (for whom I carry no water btw) would've been CRUCIFIED.
