It’s hard to convince people that you worship and pray for guidance to the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob when you treat other of God’s creations as unworthy of the Commandment to love your neighbor — including your enemies — as yourself.

You say you’re a Christian? How do you treat people who have nothing to offer you? Do you assist the poor, the oppressed, and the marginalized. If you say YES to God, LOUDLY reject and work against everything that harms people, truth, peace, and dignity. Don’t just say you’re a Christian. Live it!

Currently being hawked, for a tidy profit, by some of the MAGA/CN disciples, as if Christianity needs to be “saved” or is no longer what it used to be. But man can’t alter what God has deemed righteous and perfect.

Isn’t a book usually signed by the person who wrote it, rather than by someone who doesn’t appear even to have read it?

I don’t pretend to understand Trump’s particular kind of blasphemy or the zeal with which his disciples embrace it, but I do have to acknowledge their total commitment to it.

The CN mind sees Christianity as being of the “right” race, nationality, and political affiliation. It isn’t about being Christlike or exhibiting the fruit of the Spirit; it’s about power and control. Using Christ’s name is just a shield against criticism.

Letting anyone go hungry has always gone against the grain of Christian values but those whose faith is more culture-based, as opposed to Christ-based, often weave politics, patriotism, and more into what they call Christianity. Calling something "Christian" is often just a shield against criticism.

Until we learn to look at the world from the perspective of those who suffer, we are not truly prepared to effectively fight injustice, correct oppression, embrace the marginalized, and exhibit the empathy and compassion needed to live Christlike lives in a world that cares little about such things.
