This interview would be a good one for the North London test as suggested by @gabrielmilland.bsky.social

Wow. Robert Jenrick doubles down by branding a black journalist's questions "ridiculous" and saying that the problem is not his comments, but "journalists like you who pop up and try to knock me down", adding that "this is the reason why terrorist attacks happen". ~AA

I don't think Robert Jenrick realises that the people clapping along to him when he talks about Handsworth would clap along if he said the same about Stamford Hill. I'd hope that would give him pause for thought.

As you are in the media, and a published writer …. Wouldn’t it be great to publish a book, or do a regular newspaper column or podcast, of profiles of people who will lose ILR and leave our country if the UK, under a Reform government, breaks its promise to them?

And so I joined their party! 😳

It’s a pretty reasonable description of what’s happening. We need more people on the right to call out the mad and frightening behaviour of the Trump regime. And to be determined that it doesn’t happen here.

Certainly radical in today’s world!

"To promote greater equality of power, wealth & opportunity; the value of collective action & public service; an accountable, tolerant & active democracy; citizenship, liberty & human rights; sustainable development; & multilateral international cooperation"

Either Farage is “Britain First” (including its health) or “Appease Trump First”. Can’t be both.

Farage asked on @lbc.co.uk whether he agreed with on the unproven link between paracetamol and autism

“I have no idea... We were told thalidomide was a v safe drug and it isn’t. who knows. I don’t know, you don’t know…when it comes to science I don’t side with anybody. It’s never settled.”

The Conservative Party chair is saying the 60,000 people in hotels would have been deported to Rwanda. The capacity of the scheme was 300 in year one

Our news agenda has been dominated by the US since November. It creates the mood music here &, because of the overly reverential way it’s often reported, it encourages imitation & a sense that this stuff isn’t as nutty (and scary) as it actually is. Thus Farage’s remigration announcement yesterday.

So there you have it, old Nige wants rid of me. I mean I've not done much in my nearly 30 years here apart from paying a fair bit of tax and producing 3 (and one in the process of becoming) fully functioning, university qualified and tax paying adults

Worth remembering many people will be unfamiliar with terms like "indefinite leave to remain" and "settlement". People know what immigration is + citizenship, but settlement is less intuitive

So its important for those countering the proposals to put in schoolgate language what is being proposed

Details, details. It will be available to boost NHS funding just like Brexit did (by £350m week).

Hi Caroline. I was relieved to see Sir Ed Davey’s comments about X & Musk. I wish the government & Labour Party were as clear.

I think you still run an X account. Is it really a place which represents the values of people of South Devon - or those of the your party?
paulrobertsnhs.bsky.social
Don’t just do it of you’re a member of the same party. Contact your local MP as a constituent regardless of which party if they’re still on Twitter.

I thought it was the episode where the Tardis appears and Dr Who realises that the Normans are being controlled by the Zygons, who are famously depicted in the Bayeux Tapestry.
