No magic bullets but I am aiming to (a) introduce element of students logging use of AI in their assessments and (b) try and assess understanding of verbal material delivered/discussed in seminars where no textual material generated.

I have no magic answers and I share your sense that we are at a tipping point. But I am more optimistic and do feel there are ways to assess which can address the use of AI without resorting to in-class exams. But we need to start trying these out now.

After all, when in office, populists have the possibility to change legislation, thereby negatively affecting individual freedoms and rights, and to transform the political system, often toward democratic decline and illiberalism (Pappas 2019; Ruth-Lovell and Grahn 2023).1 Far less attention has been devoted to populist parties in opposition, even though this is the position in which populists find themselves most frequently.2 Prominent examples of Western European populist parties with a decades-long position in opposition include the
