I’m old enough to remember AG John Mitchell’s secretary “accidentally” wiping out 18 mins of Watergate tapes.

Ok, it didn’t work then. Mitchell went to prison and Nixon was forced to resign.

But that was then. We’re in a whole new era of dictatorship now. So what if a few files go missing? 🤷🏻‍♂️

Who is protecting the files?
What is to stop Bondi and her crew filleting them of awkward content?

Sure, there would be an outcry if it emerges that content was removed or destroyed.
But do they care about that, or even about the law?

I’ve never been to Portland, but from what I’ve seen in recent days, it seems a lovely place;
peaceful, sociable, a bit crazy (in the nicest, most creative way).

Like a quieter version of Dublin.😀

I’m old enough to remember John N Mitchell who was Nixon’s AG from 1968-72. He was a lying thug who ended up serving time for conspiracy and perjury.

From what I’ve seen so far of Bondi, she makes Mitch seem like a model of integrity and erudition, at least in his first year or two in office.

Out of the chaos, violence and destruction in the stages to come, some coalition of resistance may emerge from the remnants of opposition.

Maybe if the Federal Army is not sucked into the domestic war, we may find out if its much-vaunted loyalty to the Constitution means much.
