A new scam presented itself yesterday that probably targets mostly elderly people. I got a call that I have been referred for a cardiology workup and when I pressed about Medicare coverage and eventually asked "By whom?" they disconnected the call right away.

Please don't pressure people to attend your events over the coming holidays. They're an emotional minefield for many of us and we'd prefer to politely decline and leave it at that.
Memory is such a mystery. I have actively and purposely avoided any and all Thanksgiving events for almost 20 years and for some reason tonight it finally clicked. It was Thanksgiving 2005 when mom told us that the cancer was back. Stage 4, metastatic.
