It's the anniversary of the 1839 Amistad mutiny, in which a group of African captives revolted against the crew of the ship sailing them illegally toward enslavement.

The National Teachers Hall of Fame, established in 1989, selects only five teachers annually through a rigorous process that includes essays, recommendations and interviews.
Colorado middle school teacher to be inducted into National Teachers Hall of Fame
Michelle Pearson, a social studies teacher at Century Middle School in Thornton, will be inducted into the 2025 class of the National Teachers Hall of Fame.

We always forget how HUGE this event always feels, but really it's the *tiny* moments
of run-ins with colleagues from far away
of connections with strangers at an exhibition booth
of epiphanies when someone says a thing during a session
