1. Replaced the Twitter link under the Social Media Poem with Mastodon and Bluesky links.
2. Updated the broken publishing house link to Open Library.
3. Fixed two small mobile bugs while I was at it.

I totally get my design decision from a few years ago to only use one font size and style throughout my type foundry website (except for the font previews), but this makes it really hard to add anything nowadays 😅

I remember a time when everyone hated Parallax scrolling because it felt dated and uninspired. It’s definitely back, and I assume that’s thanks to tools like Webflow and Framer.

While I have a problem with the idea of being locked into their infrastructure, I gotta say that Framer is a pretty cool and powerful tool. Of course this will never happen, but if pages were exportable and self-hostable, I could see myself using it for certain projects.

I get emails asking me to pay to submit my work for some award multiple times a week. Beside that business model being questionable in general, many of these awards don’t make a very professional impression.

If you expect me to pay to submit my work, at least make sure your website isn’t buggy.

I was a Framer (Sites) beta tester and was impressed then, but I never worked with it on a real project until recently (given that I’m also a dev). Now that I got the chance, I think I made up my mind: It’s a very powerful tool for landing pages and small sites, but not suited for bigger sites.

Fictional is often used in books and branding directed at children, so I’ve updated some letterforms for better readability.

The originals remain available as alternatives. All styles now include the new glyphs, and are available as a free update for existing licenses.

📢 UPDATE: Welcome’s CEO reached out to me right after I posted this (on LinkedIn). We are now in direct contact, discussing the next steps. The issue isn’t resolved yet, but I appreciate their willingness to find a constructive solution.
