So nen 9 to 5 Job ist die effektivste Art und Weise, Weihnachten bis zum 20. Dezember einfach zu vergessen und verdrängen.

My sense is that the “male loneliness crisis” is not really about addressing men’s emotional needs but rather the relatively newfound absence of having someone to perform domestic labor for you quietly in the background now that there is a longer gap between your mother and your wife doing it

I‘m trying to ship a parcel to a friend in the US. They changed the rules on imports and customs. I now have to state the exact items and their value and their weight for my package to be processed in the US. And that it is a gift, which limits the overall value to 85)/100$. What the actual fuck.

genuine question:

to you, does cis and trans feel like a spectrum on how aligned with your assigned gender you are or two different categories in which you are either cis or trans?

cisgender students opened this discussion in one of my seminars.

I need the trans perspective on it.

I tried to find a photo of Christopher Plummer riding a bike, and instead I found this photo of a guy named Chris who's a plumber, which is even better.

friendly reminder that you didn't waste your year. any moments of happiness or comfort. any small accomplishments, they all matter. this has been a really hard year, and simply surviving is something to be proud of.

Wir schauen jetzt einen Film auf Netflix und morgen backen wir Plätzchen. Also wir tun jetzt einfach mal so als wäre da draußen nicht so viel los.

Getting blocked by Swiftie accounts for defending Taylor Swift, lol.

People seem to not have any reading comprehension skills tonight.

This is exactly what happens when a novel seasonal influenza strain meets a population with Covid-induced immune dysregulation; it's not 'like Covid again', it's the ongoing and continuous effects of Covid.

If you wanna say something bad about Taylor Swift and her Eras Tour Documentary, please make sure it’s at least factual.

they often say “everyone’s fine with your disability until it affects you”

in my experience, it’s far more often “everyone’s fine with your disability until it affects THEM”

Flu and Covid are both surging.

If you want to stay healthy for the holidays, wear a mask! Ideally a well fitted respirator like an N95.

A layered approach works best.

Get your boosters (if you can!), mask up, clean and ventilate the air and stay home when sick.

Masking is community care.

people are upset that “gen z” people are buying tickets to see the backstreet boys because “they are far too young to know this band”.

I was born in 1996, zillenial. The radio in the car played Larger Than Life and Shape of my Heart none stop when my mum dropped me off at kindergarten.

Everyone is talking about how bad the flu is.

Media & healthcare facilities are pleading with people to get their flu shot.

To stay home when sick.

To wash their hands.

Very few are recommending masks. When we had mask mandates we eliminated an entire flu strain.

Mask up!

I work at the university right now. I utterly miss working at the hospital.

I guess I chose the right profession but the wrong job. 🥲
