I’m happy to see the new American Cancer Society report showing that the U.S. has reached a historic milestone in cancer survivorship, where 70% of patients live for 5+ years after diagnosis.

But I also see it as a requiem, because the systems that made it happen have been destroyed.
A new milestone in the cancer fight: 7 in 10 patients now survive five-plus years
Better treatment options have improved survival rates in the U.S., according to a report from the American Cancer Society.

How are we ever going to overcome the complex web of ridiculously high inhaler prices? Forcing patients to make a choice between food, heat, and breathing is unconscionable. Important commentary in this week's JAMA.

A large study of COVID19 vaccination and SARS-CoV-2 infection during pregnancy showed that vaccination was significantly associated with reduced:

-Preterm births
-Hospitalizations
-Admissions to critical care unit

Yet RFK Jr., Makary, Prasad and Hoeg continue to spread disinformation about it.

I don’t think people outside of healthcare realize how much AAP is standing out as a moral backbone of medicine right now, especially in pediatrics. There is so much fear at institutions. Seeing an org directly and repeatedly targeted refuse to budge an inch is extraordinary.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has updated its website to include false claims linking vaccines and autism, prompting a swift rebuke from the AAP and other medical experts.

The ACIP Committee which has exactly 0 general pediatricians just voted 6-4 to recommend that we do lab draws on babies to determine if they need subsequent doses of Hepatitis B vaccine. There are multiple problems with this:

Sad day for children and Americans

Let’s not call RFK Jr’s “ACIP” anything other than what it is - an antivaccine coalition

Personally, think using the ACIP name for this committee is a disservice to all those who served for decades

Dr Goldman points out the committee bias, unqualified presenters, lack of transparency, cherry-picking data, sidelining actual SMEs, & failure to follow established ACIP procedures. They could have addressed this issue with an unbiased review of evidence (GRADE). That's not what is happening here.
Jason Goldman of ACP (liaison) absolutely ripping the #ACIP on the entire bullshit presented by the committee, says they're promoting an antivaccine agenda. This is amazing, someone please clip it.
