A female Red-Winged Blackbird in her stripy brown and white plumage with yellow “eyebrow” perches amongst the small copious branches of a stressed tree that’s making new red buds in the autumn. Freeing rain has coated the branches and snow is caught here and there, despite it being early November. Typically the Red-Winged Blackbirds would have all gone south before the snow arrived here.
