It's with heavy hearts that we share that Claude, our beloved albino alligator, has passed away at the age of 30. Claude brought joy to millions of people at the Academy and across the world during his 17 year tenure. We will miss him dearly. 🤍

I bought my tickets the day this was announced.
Some day I'll have a Hodgman-worthy dispute. The problem I currently have is I'm always right, and everyone around me knows it.
If you are a SanFran-Oaklandish person, or know someone who is, please know that JUDGE JOHN HODGMAN returns to @sfsketchfest.bsky.social in January, and you can by tickets here please: bit.ly/JJHOSF26

Only the NBA can take something exciting (a close game) and turn it into an interminable slog (free throw battle).

Also: insanely cheap gas is not a good thing. Gas prices should reflect their tot cost to society.
HASSETT: Gas prices dropped below $2 a gallon in a lot of places

CORDES: Gas prices on average are still at $3 a galloon

HASSETT: For a few states they got below $2

✨ A few years back I stood outside Wells Cathedral for a full day and photographed the impact of the light on the front facade. I was amazed at the outcome - at how a single entity could morph and change under the changing light. 🌅 #thread

At its peak, 100-200k NYC horses, 30 lbs of poop/day each. People would use these boot scrapers, that you can still see everywhere today built into the brownstone wrought iron fences, to scrape, 70%? of the poop off the bottom of their shoes before they went into the house. Horse poop everywhere.

You can’t try to logic this shit. Dudes a psychopath, has been since he was a child.
Stephen Miller is of Ashkenazi Jewish descent. His great-grandparents inhabited the Pale of Settlement (western Russia where Jews were allowed to live) and escaped Russian pogroms and the Holocaust. All the same racist, xenophobic, ignorant things he is saying were said about his own family.

I must not post. Posting is the mind-killer. Posting is the little-death that brings total obliteration. I will face my post. I will permit it to pass over me and through me and not onto the keyboard. And when it has gone past I will turn my phone off. Where the post has gone there will be nothing.
no I'm not "posting through it." it's posting through me

A weird point of personal pride was when the actress who played Moose emailed me in a professional capacity (this would have been about 20 years after the show was on).
I remember seeing You Can't Do That On Television as a kid and I still don't understand how any of that happened
I think if Canada wants to have a strong cultural identity we need to go back to doing what we're best at, making the weirdest fucking TV shows you've ever seen
