@replsimon.bsky.social has been a powerful voice in Congress and has used it to help us fight back against the GOP’s cruel, anti-equality agenda, defending LGBTQI+ servicemembers & their families against multiple anti-LGBTQI+ GOP amendments to the FY26 National Defense Authorization Act.

Earlier this year, @replsimon.bsky.social co-led the "Rise up for LGBTQI+ Youth in Schools" resolution to demand equal opportunity, civil rights, and freedom from erasure for ALL students, but especially LGBTQI+ young people. She believes schools should open doors, not close them.

Before coming to Congress, @replsimon.bsky.social led the charge for change at the Young Women’s Freedom Center, which supported LGBTQI+ youth.

In Congress, she's continued to fight for our community, including by co-leading a letter opposing Trump's renaming of the USNS Harvey Milk.

Alice Wong was a fierce advocate for disabled people and a brilliant writer.

Her last words were: “Don’t let the bastards grind you down. I love you all.”

I hear you Alice, the fight for disability justice continues.

Coach Beam was a giant in our city, and his death is a deep wound for Oakland. He was the foundation for so many young men, and his name will move through every generation he touched. (1/2)

The Trump Administration's plan to break up the Department of Education is a direct attack on students with disabilities and core civil rights protections. The Individuals with Disabilities Education Act is already chronically underfunded… (1/2)

Clinical trials & publicly funded biomedical research can be life-changing. I know they were for my family. Yet during the Republican government shutdown, the NIH was not able to support new grants, do in-house research, or operate clinicaltrials.gov. (1/3)

Schools should open doors for LGBTQ+ youth, not close them. As Vice Chair of @equality.house.gov, I’m proud to join 130 of my Democratic colleagues on an amicus brief to SCOTUS opposing categorical trans sports bans. Trans rights are human rights, and I will always fight to protect trans rights.
Today, CEC Co-Chair @balint.house.gov, @demwomencaucus.bsky.social Chair @fernandez.house.gov, & Senator @hirono.senate.gov led 130 Members of Congress in filing an amicus brief to the Supreme Court, highlighting how categorical trans sports bans harm ALL girls & urging SCOTUS to #LetKidsPlay!

This Transgender Day of Remebrance, I am honoring those who lived in their full truth and inspired others to do the same. I will never stop working for a safer, more inclusive world. I am deeply committed to fighting for our transgender siblings in the memory and wisdom of those that came before.

“It's going to take women to lead a new revolution”: Hours after the House overwhelmingly passed a bill to force the release of the Epstein files, the Senate quickly moved to pass the legislation by unanimous consent. @replsimon.bsky.social, who was with survivors today, joins The Weeknight.

Yesterday, I joined members of the Democratic Women’s Caucus and survivors of Jeffrey Epstein to stand shoulder to shoulder and demand justice — not only for these survivors, but for all survivors of sexual abuse and trafficking. This cannot be just a moment we need a movement… (1/2)

It's going to take women to lead a new revolution in this country where survivors are centered and heard. Not just for the survivors of Jeffrey Epstein, but for survivors of trafficking and violence all across this country.

I have spent thirty years alongside young people who survived trafficking. Here is the truth. This country still looks away when women and girls are violated. We must confront a culture that protects power and ignores their pain. Believe survivors. Protect them. End the violence. #freethegirls

The fight for the release of the Epstein files is not just another political flashpoint. It is a reminder of how this country repeatedly fails women and girls who were harmed in plain sight. Republicans and Democrats alike must meet this moment with courage and longstanding commitments to do better.

I’m standing up for California’s Proposition 12 and the right of every community to set strong standards for animal welfare, public health, and the environment by leading more than 180 of my Democratic colleagues in opposing the inclusion of H.R. 4673 in the Farm Bill. (1/2)

This week, the House Oversight Committee released new emails from Jeffrey Epstein, and let's get this straight: Jeffrey Epstein says that of all the people he's met, Trump is the WORST?

Oversight Committee Democratic Members have consistently pushed for answers and justice for the victims.

Republicans forced the longest government shutdown in American history AND tried to deny SNAP benefits to 42 million people during the shutdown. While Republicans were focused on cruelty, I was fighting w/ everything I had to release SNAP funding & support our children, elders, & disabled neighbors.
