ICE is violently and unduly targeting Somali and other Black, brown, and immigrant communities in Minnesota and across the nation. This behavior is not new and has existed in many forms throughout American history. But like before, we will not let this violence and terror go unchecked.

I am in Minneapolis today to bear witness to the terror that Donald Trump has unleashed on our neighbors.

Democratic members of Congress are here for a field hearing to conduct oversight and hear directly from members of the community about their lived experiences and organizing efforts.

The Trump Administration is betraying the American people, provoking foreign wars while people starve and sleep on our streets.

Make no mistake - this is a confession of values.

Before politics, I spent decades working with young people. It’s how I got to know Coach Beam. His life's work was not to save Oakland’s children, it was to remind them that they were never lost.

The Trump Adminstration just froze millions of dollars for for child care subsidies, social services and cash support for low-income families in states with Democratic leaders.
