Good morning. Painted Lady #Butterfly on Sea Aster yesterday. Sea Aster, has gained popularity as a gourmet food, with its young, edible leaves and stems being collected. The Painted Lady is known for its flight speed, reaching speeds up to 20 miles per hour. #ColorADay #YellowThu #EastCoastKin
Close-up of a vibrant orange, black, and white painted lady butterfly perched on a cluster of light purple aster flowers with bright yellow centers, surrounded by green foliage.

Record count of 60 Peacocks in Purbeck Bunkers ydy, but c30 were dead, eaten by bats! So they went into hibernation early and got munched! Grills have recently been put over entrances to protect the bats and this has clearly encouraged them! @malcolmhull.bsky.social @dorsetbutterflies.bsky.social
