A Rear Window riff that crosses mystery-thriller with slacker comedy, SHIFT is a good time with a bit of unevenness in execution

SHIFT is a fun REAR WINDOW call back, a thriller mystery crossed with a slacker comedy — Moviejawn
by Kevin Fox Jr., Staff Writer SHIFT itself is a fun movie to watch because it feels accomplished despite its genuinely low-budget

It’s not an indictment of the show, but it’s funny and unfortunate that Abbott Elementary dabbles in social critique of structures in Philly but can’t speak about how the cops take all the money. lol the Inquirer caught these people stealing sick days en masse like two or three years ago

The thing about the insidiousness of racism is that there’s a lot of shit that a lot of people have been dealing with, subject to, that is just brand new to (a certain strata of) white people. Like the constitution has not been this ironclad thing before last year

I feel like most of my life the NFL officiating has gone in favor of the offense. It became a more wide open game, and defenses adjusted, and I feel like officiating adjusted some to allow defenses to play, but I just do not understand what counts as pass interference. It is a total crapshoot

It’s interference if the receiver falls over with a hand on the ball?

Our Man in Havana (1958)

Was thinking earlier “sometimes you just gotta let the darkness win.” But that’s not true. You gotta always fight the darkness.

We don’t have censorship in this country; it’s just a coincidence how many books by tenured professors and longtime professional journalists about US foreign policy corruption and malfeasance are always out of print.

I’ve asked before, but does anyone remember the meme/comic format where it would show a girl kissing one guy, then another guy, and the third one would be the two guys while the girl flipped off the camera/audience?

When I was in my late teens, I kinda wanted a Wonder Woman tattoo for no well-thought-out reason. Wanted it to wrap around my arm arm connect to a Captain Marvel tatoo.. of course, problem is the “modern mythology“ is all IP owned by profit-driven conglomerates, so you just feel gross
