At some point the talking point will be “we need to talk about Saka.” He was meant to be the attacking star in this team, but the injuries of the past couple of years have stopped his development and there is a clear absence in this team.

Gyok/Madueke have 21G+A this season, are on relatively modest wages, and have covered for injuries to Havertz and Saka most of the season. It’s hard not to see that as justifiable decision-making given our position in the table, and how, e.g. Isak has gotten on this season.
It may not be decisive but a thought that keeps occurring with Arsenal. They could have used the Gyokeres/Madueke money to sign a higher-level forward. They can lack "killers"

The starting attack here seemed one of impact subs rather than a champion line

Arsenal blow their chance at Brentford to highlight key change needed
Brentford 1-1 Arsenal: The Bees hit back against the Gunners, who lacked enough conviction in their play, meaning Man City are now just four points behind the Premier League leaders

Gabi didn’t even appeal for a foul there.

I’ve not see enough credit to Gyokeres for putting Timber through like that. Havertz would get plaudits for it. Thought Gyok was decent again today.

We are in a great position, but 3 things worry me:

- there have been multiple games where out standards dropped at key points, as though we are collectively nervous

- we are not keeping players fit, and other players (Rice) are being overplayed

- Saka/Odegaard are not fit or in form.

Best case scenario is that we keep enough composure to stay in the race until the end of the season. There was a chance to get a massive lead and demoralise City and make them focus on other things, but we didn’t take it. Injuries have again hit the key players. It will be close now.

He had a fair whack of Gabi’s shirt on the goal.

I hereby permit negativity if we don’t beat Wolves.
February 12, 2026 at 10:11 PM
From early on this really felt like an unwinnable game.
February 12, 2026 at 10:08 PM
Feels like a curse when you invest in a deep squad and then spend the entire season with injuries and end up having to play tired and injured players in tough away games.
February 12, 2026 at 10:04 PM
Probably the worst possible game at the worst time. Decent point, other context aside. Extend the lead. We need fit players. Odegaard played injured there. Saka was nowhere near fit. Rice was beyond capacity.

Hit it first time, for goodness sake
February 12, 2026 at 9:50 PM
Why do they get another corner for fouling Raya?!
February 12, 2026 at 9:42 PM
We look tired. Squad look thin. Frustrating. You’d think having so many players would have fixed this.
February 12, 2026 at 9:41 PM
How many more injuries are we going to get.
February 12, 2026 at 9:31 PM
Looks like a serious Odegaard injury. Jesus Christ.
February 12, 2026 at 9:30 PM
I miss confident Odegaard.
February 12, 2026 at 9:27 PM
Odegaard’s lack of a right foot really limits him. Everyone expects him to chop back.
February 12, 2026 at 9:25 PM
Just shoot man!
February 12, 2026 at 9:24 PM
Don’t want to see Gabi playing for fouls. He will not get one, he must defend. Remember Woltemade…
February 12, 2026 at 9:22 PM
Surely there’s a rule about scoring with a headband.
February 12, 2026 at 9:21 PM
A header of Sagna/Mertesacker proportions.
February 12, 2026 at 9:19 PM
Sort of lost any optimism about this game when Gyokeres got booked. Just an absurd decision, makes the rest feel uphill.

Oh, we scored 🧐
February 12, 2026 at 9:18 PM
Chance to go 6 points clear in the title race with 12 games to go tonight. That can only really be considered a good thing. And then to the bottom team in the league and manageress relegation candidates. Bring it on.
