Over lunch we were playing a loosely defined game of "rank things" and I called falafel the worst vegetarian snack and the way people got big mad at me was very validating.

My dad and stepmom's church do this little global market jawn every year ahead of Christmas, and less importantly it's actually a wicked good oil, but also this is like year six or seven that she's given us a bottle, and the fact that it's still in production after all of everything means a lot.

Learning that James Ransone i.e. Ziggy Sobotka died Friday of suicide. He was 46, survived by his wife and two kids.
Only learning now that he had an extremely hard childhood. Parents/kid-adjacent folk should consider not delving too deeply.
He was a great actor. Sad story. Hope hes found peace.

Don't be the one bringing the bugs to holiday celebrations,especially if you've got oldsters in your life. It's a good time of year to be masking (he says while wearing a KN95 in a hospital waiting room)!
Hanging with mom at her appointment, hair tall, face masked. Desperate to avoid any of the bugs going around - my mom almost died from Covid last year.

Wicked unusual for me to be up and active this time of day. Shoveled two other houses' sidewalks, said hi to some neighbors. This really is a pretty good block, I got lucky.

Watching network tv for the first time in months (the parade obvi) and wow mainstream commercials sure are something.
