COMIC: "Hi, I'm Dave Kellett, and I'm book-smart, world-stupid"
PANEL 1: DAVE, the cartoonist, stands alone on a yellow-to-green background.
DAVE: I am book-smart, wrold-stupid. Like, when i’m cutting wood with power tools…?

PANEL 2: DAVE holds up a hand saw, and motions behind him.
DAVE: …but my safety goggles are WAAAAY across the room? Like, unreachably far…?
An arrow motions to the edge of the panel: 6 feet, tops.

PANEL 3: DAVE has put down the power tools, puts his hand on his chest.
DAVE: …What do I, with my two masters degrees, choose to do…?

PANEL 4: DAVE uses the handsaw on a piece of wood that is clamped down. Sawdust flies all over. He squints with his tongue sticking out his mouth in concentration.
NARRATION TEXT: The SAFETY SQUINT
DAVE: Like a little idiot.

Jack Russell's beautiful painting of the old Tavern at Lord's hangs in the ground's pavilion, sadly hidden away on the first floor partly obscured by stored TV camera equipment when I last looked. An incredible artist, and this work deserves far more prominence. It is one of my favourites.

Seeing the Bill Watterson originals full of pencil lines of stuff that didn’t work, scuffs the eraser didn’t pick up, white out galore and more was something I needed to see to remind myself that nothing is perfect the first go and tweaks need to be made and you’re allowed to try again.
