(in Spain we'd say "es un pepino" but "it's a cucumber" doesn't translate well)

My parents had one of these in yellow when I was a kid.

So Dokploy doesn't have zero downtime deployments.

Kamal needs images to be pulled from a registry... and I'd rather avoid anything touched by DHH.

With Dokku you can deploy in tons of ways. I just setup git push via ssh to the app repo on the VPS.

Dokku it is! 🙌

Both solve zero-downtime deployments, SSL, and proxying which is basically what I need.

The main difference seems that Kamal can only deploy from a Docker registry. Dokku can deploy directly from Github and builds the container image locally.

So I'm looking into deploying docker containers to a VPS.

I'm not much of a sysadmin so my main options are Dokku and Kamal.

Anyone has thoughts on this?

You can't really put all tech products/services in the same bag.

Also $2.8B in 1994 is more like $6.1B today spread over 7 years.

OpenAI burned 2x that in 6 months.

16GB is the new 8GB 😬

It's not even remotely comparable.

OpenAI is one of the most popular services *ever made* and yet they only keep hemorrhaging money like crazy.

They'd lose less money if they were selling dollars at 50 cents.

Is there a website promoting platforms that won't feed the AI slop machine?

*cough* like wavekit.app *cough*

It's not a input, for sure, but it has interactive behaviors (beyond focusing obv).

You can click on the backdrop or use the ESC key to close the dialog.

Maybe reducing the need for dependencies would be a good long term strategy for Node and the npm ecosystem?
pierbover.com
But disabled is used with all the other interactive elements (including the <menuitem> proposal) 🤔

I think the only exception is <a> although I will admit I've never needed to disable a link (unlike a form or a modal which is almost always).
pierbover.com
<menuitem> is exactly what I meant :)

The proposal look great!
pierbover.com
That said...

I think it would've been more idiomatic to use a "disabled" attribute.
pierbover.com
Thanks I wasn't aware of closedby="none".

It works for CSS with an attribute selector and doesn't enable closing with ESC and clicking on the backdrop.

But it doesn't prevent the dialog from being closed with a button. In both of these examples you can still close the dialog.
