40 years ago I stopped eating meat. I replaced milk with soy milk. If you put animals in cages, humans will become concentration camp guards. Maybe not all of them, but in an industrialized system, a lot.

Volgens mij onderschat Rusman het probleem. Het geloof in het goede an sich verdwijnt. (Rechts weet waarschijnlijk niet hoe postmodern het daarin is.) Deugen is nu een scheldwoord, een goed mens wordt een gutmensch genoemd, idealisten zijn narcisten. Alleen egoïsme is een geloofwaardige motivatie.

I wanted to write variations for piano and orchestra but I only managed to write the orchestration of the melody. The flute is basically adding a variation though. Next year I hope to add piano variations.

Yes you can put stained glass in concrete. Also you can make very refined ornaments with concrete. Art Deco proved all that. After WW2 concrete has been mythologized as something coarse and simple, so its true potential as an endless malleable substance has been forgotten.

This is very bad. A prime minister who admits he bends to personal threads of Russia: 'Moscow made it clear that if confiscation happens, Belgium and I personally will feel the consequences forever. That seems like a rather long time'. A coward like that should resign immediately.

This is the minimalism I can enjoy. Notice not just the organic curve on the top, and the back. There are also subtle vertical grooves in the stone: one on the right, three on the left. This minimalism is soft, poetic and organic. You can discover more when you look longer. This is art.

I'm 49 and I grew up without mobile phones. We didn't even have tv. I spend a lot of time in the 'real' world and I don't think it is better than scrolling on your phone. Sometimes it is, but often it isn't. Enjoy the scroll.

Tja. Je kan ook eens kijken naar geliefde steden, straten en wijken, en dan kopiëren wat werkt. Maar architecten en stedenbouwers blijven al 80 jaar stug dezelfde fouten maken. Wandelend door Manhattan zag ik 25 jaar geleden al: het zijn de ornamenten en de bogen die het verschil maken.
