So happy I can finally share the card back for the special anniversary for #MechShuffle. It's on sale right now so go check it out!

I don't usually draw mech so this was super challenging for me. Even worse, I had an artist block for the colours when the deadline was fast approaching. #pixelart
The current state of gamedev YouTube is pretty sad IMO. Lots of people giving bad advice because it gets engagement. Many making subpar games because churning out slop makes more than zero money... Still, I always find it inspiring when I find people making games they truy love
Another peek at the #MechShuffle content patch! The ARMICUST Heavy Tank is a mobile fortress, with impenetrable armour plating and arrays of light weaponry. Specialized in swamping defences of even the biggest Mech, the ARMICUST prefers to ambush and overwhelm opposition. #indiegamedev #gamedev
#MechShuffle Anniversary Patch in 2 Days! Here's a peek at one of the two new units coming in the patch: The OPIFEX light VTOL! This compact scout likes to fire from cover and keep out of reach of melee attacks. #indiegame #Mech
Working on pilot customization in Drop Command. Added a level up system where you choose new pilot traits. Realized an rpg like stats system is needed to give pilots more room to grow and distinguish themselves. Exact details still in the works, but definitely needing a mix of combat and noncombat.
Today it took me 5 hours of debugging to learn the hard way that a struct is only surface-level value type. Since arrays are reference types, an array inside of a struct will only be copied by reference. The bug this was causing: modifying the loadout of 1 mech was changing the loadout of all mechs.

Going to be honest, I feel very demotivated to make art and work on the game 😔 I know it's not the biggest deal in the world to miss a deadline I set for myself. It's beyond that. The dev scene feels so commercialized and against indies. I just want to make silly little games.
Some of my favourite moments in gaming come from a sudden sense of scale when I see something I perceived as large, absolutely eclipsed by something new and gigantic. Trying to capture that feeling in #DropCommand #indiegamedev #screenshotsaturday
New Drop Command devlog is live! Check it out for some retro Mech combat action. Lots of progress done on the campaign, and lots of optimizations. New units, new weapons, and 29 new planets! #gamedev #indiegamedev

Here's the main screen of my idle game with the retro GBA feel! Pupperoni is a placeholder and can be ignored. Just a few more things to add before it's done!

First look at the resource generators! Inspired by evolution stones. Might need to tweak the top two to match the rest

Thanks! MW2 was the first 3D game I ever played. One of my absolute favorites
Four new planets in #DropCommand! The push to add content for the procedural campaign continues. Can't wait to have the demo ready to share. #indiegamedev
Progress on #DropCommand is coming along! The procedural campaign is getting closer to ready for a demo release. #gamedev
Adding new content can feel very abstract. I added mineral refineries. Needed a base layout, needing colour coded squares to set where different building chunk spawn relationships. Still, feels pretty rewarding when all the game systems work together to streamline adding new content!
Cthonic, echoing within the vambrace of the mind. Howling with the depth and uncertainty of the beyond
It's been 6 months since the last update, time for a ton of news! From 10 new planets, to 2 new vehicles and the first steps towards a procedural campaign! Check out the Drop Command game #devlog and let me know what you think! #gamedev #indiegame youtu.be/p-9cFx79K4w

First attempt at the 2D projection is done! These are the stars in the Hyades cluster. The red dots are the star systems that are currently in the demo. Still a lot of work to do, but progress is progress!
First step towards 'empire management' in Drop Command: an accurate 3D map of the star cluster! Next up... probably a 2D projection to create a player interface for travelling between stars.
Finally updated the Drop Command terrain generator. Now uses chunks instead of one giant mesh. Opens up many new possibilities! For optimizing the game, next up is reducing map generation times! The glories of gamedev...
Wishlisted! Glad to see a new mech game to look forward to!
