Today the Temporal proposal has entered the stable stream shipping Chrome 144. This opens the gates for attaining Stage 4 at TC39.

That means tonight I will be purchasing a supply of champagne in preparation.

It’s been a long journey and so very worthwhile!

Like me. The Queen of Schengen. I no longer feel like German, British, Spanish or Portuguese. I just feel like a "European" in the EU. I wished my passport and ID would just say that. I no longer feel any attachment to any nationality and country.

🇪🇺 Is now the keep of Western values. And it's under threat.

Under no circumstances can we allow exceptionalism to undermine our Union and the primacy of commitment to unity.

I understand. We understand.

We understand the importance that Europe had in your lives and the sense of biting loss for many of you.

We understand what Brexit has done.

I’ve been playing with module loaders and node sea recently. Anthropic supposedly bought bun because of the ease of application bundling. Now the same is easily achievable with node.js using www.npmjs.com/package/@pip...

I have personally spoken to a group of WI members who will be writing letters to the WI and renouncing their membership because of this.

Dear WI, dear Girl Guiding;
You know you’re on the wrong side of an issue if your grandma feels the need to protest.
📢 NION Women Statement on trans women and girls being excluded from Girlguiding and the Women's Institute.

We are deeply saddened that both Girlguiding and @womensinstitute.bsky.social have been placed under pressure that has resulted in trans women and girls being excluded from their organisations

I’m reading the news and thought it’s probably worthwhile asking people to read the UN Declaration of Human Rights once again. Those are the foundation upon which civilisation rests. How civilised are we?

Node excitement 😉

Congrats to @marcoippolito.dev on making it official: type-stripping in Node 25 is now declared to be stable 🎉

You can run: node index.ts

The capabilities have not changed since Node 24. This is purely a maturity indicator.
Type stripping is now stable.
Enjoy 🌞

As an experiment, we (the Firefox team) wanted to try a new way to get feedback on which Interop proposals matter most.

So, here's a web app where you can rank the proposals you care about, giving us data we can use when reviewing which ones to champion.

Excellent summary!

(Disclosure: I wrote mod_xslt2 for Apache 2 back in the day and have extensively used XSLT to format base data into all kinds of things)
I've ended up writing a very long piece about XSLT and whether browsers should keep the code they use to transform XML documents into new forms because what was meant to be a technical debate about security, resource priorities and backward compatibility touched such a nerve it needs MEMES 🧵
XSLT Debate Leads to Bigger Questions of Web Governance
Security issues and web compatibility are pulling in different directions, as Google and Firefox discuss dropping XSLT support from browsers.

This is a good article from @bearlypolitics.co.uk albeit surely uncomfortable reading for everyone on all sides in the UK.

Firstly, we should all admire the directness and economy in his writing.
