Crunch is a failure of team and company leadership.

If you are sitting at your desk at 1am stressing on a problem and your manager is in their office playing with and modifying nerf guns your project has severely gone off the rails

NEW: For the last seven weeks, Naughty Dog has enacted mandatory overtime for staff to finish an internal demo of their next game, Intergalactic. The game won't be out until 2027, leaving some staff wondering: If they're crunching now, what will next year be like? www.bloomberg.com/news/article...

While watching #TheGameAwards, I couldn't help but notice a LOT of red and spikiness/thorniness.

I quickly assembled this collage; there are more instances than these.

Not to crap on these games and their trailers, but shouldn't they look more distinct from each other?

The amount of people I know who have been laid off from games industry jobs and are deciding to leave games entirely as a result is not only extremely saddening (of course), but also genuinely scary. We have lost legitimately thousands of years of knowledge and experience in the last four years.

I am so sad about the passing of Rebecca Heineman. I got to meet her in person at GDC once, I told her about how the port of Out Of This World on SNES (that people thought wasn’t possible but she did) was one of my favorite games as a kid, and pushed me to get into games as a career.
