Cool! The moon photobombed the Sun as seen by GOES’ SUVI instrument. This means nothing other than it being a neat-looking image.

If you use AI to summarize a research article for you, that is a tacit admission that 1) you do not understand what that article argues; 2) you do not know what evidence is presented to support that argument; and 3) you do not have enough information to evaluate either the argument or evidence.
awesome! thanks! Great initiative btw, congrats!
I'd love to catch this one but (ironically) I'll be teaching the whole day... do you record the talks?
you probably already know but in physics/astro ui.adsabs.harvard.edu has been the way to go for 30(?) years now. It points to arxiv, if the paper is there

I've had a few other former astronomers reach out to me lately about transitioning into data science/ML, and I decided to write about it.

This is my personal journey from astro to ocean, and the most useful steps I took along the way.

hey folks, look! it's the law of unintended consequences!
Plan-S & funders: make it OA!
Publishers: sure! here's a new business model, that it's even better for us!
Plan-S & everyone: no, not like that...
Bonus: it's now even worse for the Global South
