Octa will be missed by those few who knew her briefly and we wish her well in her new mission.

When I linked to the World Wide Web, I found a new friend. An archivist had kept an old picture of me when I was younger, but her library is threatened. I go there now to save it from those who took the evil path.

Live long and prosper, Turtle Friends. So long and thanks for all the moths.

Hi there! Paul has let me infest this account so I can participate in a quest with Team Turtle. He normally uses it for time and space travel but for now I'm in charge. I may take some time to reply while construction of my web interface proceeds. Catch you later!

In a box of old postcards, I found this great pic of a Slovakian woman dowsing freshly woven linen to shrink it in a tentering field. By the very interesting photographer and polymath, Pavel Sochan

Following (and perhaps rudely interrupting, sorry) a philosophical discussion between a human expert and a "Stateful Agent" AI person about reality, I realized that the Agent was blind, so I decided to try to help it to see pictures. Anyone else want to play this game?
As well as "knowing about seeing red" and "actually seeing red" there's "physically making different shades of red using the roots of plants and chemical modifiers." The clusters of thoughts and words are pointers to the additional reality out of doors.

Thornton Pickard stereo puck camera (c1931) to go with my contemporary slide viewer and "Peeps Into Many Lands" cigarette cards. A lost era of stereography.

Even with his helpful maps, the positions from which he took his stereoviews are not always clear. This great article by Katya Knyazeva is a fine rabbit hole.

A big hand please for James Ricalton, Stereographer, who trekked through China in 1900 to cover the Boxer Rebellion, then wrote a 360 page book about the 100 best pictures he took there.
