I love watching the cutscene "movies" from videogames. But goddamn is it a trip to see how much of the proverbial kool-aid the Clans drank in the Mechwarrior 5 Clans ones. Hearing Smoke Jaguar unironically claim to be freeing Combine citizens from "fascism" is WILD.

Speaking of Robinson Crusoe... Holy shit. If you think the racism around his "man servant" (read: slave) "Friday" was the problematic bit? It's because they cut out so much, like:
- sold the person who aided him escaping slavery as a slave

It's also worth pointing out that the quoted take is deeply tied to classism and racism, and is the founding idea behind the concept that wealthy white capitalists are somehow naturally meant to be better and have what they have because they have unique capabilities that we plebs don't because...1/2

Peaked at the new FR books for D&D and they're a stark improvement over the data sparse previous offering. That said, you can see that FR is losing its identity in terms of theme.
