I saw "Wicked: For Good" today. I was uncertain how they'd go with Nessarose in this, but it's a big improvement on the stage version (within the limits of the source material... it'll be some other film that gives us the lead using a wheelchair).

I'm not sure I've seen anything that unusual in the wild (for someone in the UK). I saw a compass jellyfish when I was sea swimming. A wild orange morph of Porcellio scaber woodlice. A kingfisher. Chrysocharis gemma doing ecology stuff (a parasitoid wasp of holly leaf miners). Wood mice (so small).

A good thing I wasn't trying to film today as the foxes have decided it's otherworldly screaming night.

Help me fund epic poem GULA: A Poem For The End Times on BackerKit! A modernist/post-modernist long-form poem, GULA explores Carrion City, a place where the lost and forsaken end up and rarely leave -- a mirror city to the world of the beloved and treasured.

My main observation on pirating books is the more aggressive someone is about their right to do so, the more likely it is they can afford books. It's like rich kids shoplifting makeup because they think it's cool. Poor people steal bread and wish they had enough to pay for it.

On party food/drink notes, alcohol isn't the only potential issue. Especially in sugar tax countries, make sure you have something that doesn't contain sweeteners. Things that were okay last year might have sweeteners now. Things you don't expect can add them (pickled beetroot).

I've now watched Sonic 3! My aro self doesn't ship many characters, but I'm here for the dysfunctional villain romance in this series.
