Like so many members of our military, serving this country changed my life. The Navy gave me opportunities I wouldn't dream of and taught me lessons I'll never forget. I'm grateful for everything our nation has given me, and I'll always do everything I can to give back to it.

For once I am on a block list for which I am proud.

Of course, I don't really hate them, but I do disapprove.

My kids can't believe this:

We were required to shower for gym and sports beginning in the 7th grade, through high school.

We were stark-ass naked in front of the other boys in our class/team many times, including showering a few feet from one another in a big, open room.

This horrifies them. 🤣

You all know this Pulte seditionist is from Pulte homes, right?

So, if you are in the market for a newly constructed house, first of all, congratulations on your wealth. Also, don't buy Pulte.

And by the way, a relative who worked for Pulte over 10 years ago told me to never consider a Pulte home.

Not knowing Mark Kelly well, I suspect he is pretty moderate and probably to the right of me on various issues, but I can say, with no hesitation whatsoever, this:

Mark Kelly is poised to be the moral leader of this country, and unless some disqualifying info about him surfaces, I support him 100%.

Those who can, do.

Those who can't, join the right wing criminal syndicate ecosystem and get rich selling their souls to Satan.

Maybe we should be grateful for having lived through the peak of the U.S. experiment.

I am old and susceptible to nostalgia, but damn, things really turned to absolute shit in the 21st Century.

Pew-pew time seems to be sneaking up on us.
MS NOW confirms: The FBI is working with Capitol Police to schedule interviews with the six Democratic lawmakers who urged service members to refuse to comply with illegal orders.

Hey, non-Americans, DON'T mind your own business.

I would recommend building capabilities to defeat Russia with an eye toward the eventual need for regime change in the U.S.
Now, remind me again that non-Americans should mind their own business.

The Lexington Green.

If you don't know, read about it.

If you are wondering how we go from "why aren't the people up in arms about this" to "a shooting war it shall be" in a single day, this would be a moment in history to understand.

I think they let him sleep in meetings because if they try to wake him and he is actively dying, they might have to save him. It's safer to just wait it out and hope for the best.

They just beautifully kicked off Mark Kelly's presidential campaign, if he desires it.

Why again is Mamdami cool for accepting the moral surrender of Trump but Harris was not for accepting the moral surrender of Cheney?

It's almost like many of the far left accounts working against Harris were foreign.

Watching The American Revolution on PBS, and I keep thinking, if only we could force all the numbskulls to sit through this and discuss what things meant and how they relate now, and then I remember, these people can look reality in the face and laugh at it. Only what they believe matters.

Serious people are doing serious work that will lead to serious improvements in many fields.

The large, consumer-facing tech companies are fluffing Wall Street and setting up individual investors to take the fall when the bubble bursts.
It's frustrating that we are getting technologies that really will transform our lives, and we should be thinking carefully about what that means, but the possibility of thoughtful discussion is being squelched by a stream of soul-crushing visions and wild hyperbole coming from Silicon Valley.
Everything about this might be the saddest thing I’ve ever seen

I noticed that Burns' The American Revolution mentioned that the colonists boycotted the Townshend Acts.

This is true except the term "boycott" would not arise for a century. It was the name of a British officer who evicted tenant farmers and was "boycotted" by the community in occupied Ireland.

Noem and Patel were at the race? I didn’t spot them on the broadcast, but I might have been distracted.

Were they featured?

Re: knowing WAY too much about famous people sex:

I 100% respect your right to love who you love.

I also reserve the right to judge you. Not everything is OK, and tolerance is not enthusiastic approval.

Honestly we could do with a great deal more shame in this country, appropriately applied.

I feel like I need a Cato to my Clouseau, but Cato needs to be a cat.

I am thinking Maine Coon, because you need to fear death from Cato to fully enjoy the relationship, but I am not sure a Maine Coon will be enough cat.

Bobcat, maybe? Cheetah?

Remember, according to many, if you are "Liberal" (meaning anti-authoritarian), you are Fascist or proto-Fascist. That, of course, is nonsensical on its face, but it reveals the reality that extremists wish to extinguish liberty, to promote an efficient society (as they see it) over human freedom.
As Matthew Sitman points out — like @zohrankmamdani (and MLK, etc) ‘1984’ author George Orwell was a Democratic Socialist who fought for workers.

He also opposed communism because the two are not the same things and words have meanings.
