i have spent HOURS warning my mother about various scams and the danger of uploading family photos to genAI. she finally touched the stove and fell for a giftcard scam so now she's out $200.
and let me just say; the amount of benevolence i showed in NOT telling her "i told you so" is beyond saintly.
