You are 100% allowed to decide something is not a priority for you, even if you have the time.

Don't let the "fawn" trauma response convince you otherwise.

If you can't "cure' it, curate it into your daily life. Through consistent nurturing rituals, responses, environments, and relationships, your nervous system will begin to trust that you are providing safety and getting your vital needs met.

Our brains cannot learn when we are in a state of fear or stress. Finding a way to regulate our nervous system and connect to our wise mind and heart promotes understanding, learning, growth, and healing. Any past negative patterns can be repaired in current respectful, nurturing relationships.

Politics can feel heavy, divisive, and overwhelming. But what if we shifted our lens? In this video, I share a positive reframe on politics, offering a perspective on how we can approach conversations with curiosity, compassion, and a focus on connection rather than division.

Many survivors feel shame about how our symptoms get in the way of "adulting"-- but you need to know tasks like paying bills, being on time, car maintenance, & even basic hygiene often trip the "Big Three" CPTSD triggers: feeling controlled, trapped, or "in trouble."

No shame.

As I take a week off to heal from my second surgery to remove cancer, I have been watching the thrivers of Epstein and Maxwell’s abuse speaking out and so proud of them. I know first hand how scary it is to do and how detrimental sexual abuse is to one’s sense of self, body, mind and spirit.

An underappreciated CPTSD recovery hack is to create. Create anything. Art, music, food. It doesn't have to be objectively "good," or objectively anything-- just create. Make. Generate. Creativity oils every aspect of our recovery work. It literally reanimates our brain & heart.

The fact that we can-- & do-- stumble & regress after making some progress isn't a "failure." Sh*t happens.

We're not working our CPTSD recovery w/ the expectation of no roadblocks ever again. The opposite, actually-- we work our recovery because there WILL be. Grace over guilt.

Reframing “Mental Illness” 🧠
What if it’s not you that’s broken, but a response to an overwhelmed system, personal, generational, and societal?
Naming my struggles helped me stop fighting myself.
But shame, silence, and judgment? That’s what wounds the deepest.
Let’s replace stigma with compassion.💛

🎵 What if aging wasn’t about decline, but remembering who we truly are?
Music has the power to reawaken the soul, bringing joy, memory, and connection back to life, especially in our elders.

💡 Sometimes it’s not personal, it’s emotional. People carry complex inner worlds, and their reactions often reflect their own processing, not a judgment of your worth.

This shift in perspective helps us move from defensiveness to compassion, for them and for ourselves. 💛
