Cleveland could be such an important street.

East Nashville needs a bike (and bus) corridor that cuts across East. From Dickerson Pike to Shelby Bottoms.

And ofc if we figure out how to burrow under the interstate....
Your regular reminder that despite the faded lines and leftover sign, there are still no bike lanes on Cleveland St, 8 years after they were removed by the previous councilmember.

Well, at the very least, this is an opportunity for other 2028 hopefuls to make an entrance into the TN-07 race.

Harris has clearly chosen her TN ally.

What other contenders see this as an opportunity to make some allies in a *very* silly inter-party squabble?

Awesome to hear neighbors Zach and India talk about Trinity’s vision!

Build more housing.
Did you know that faith-based properties can develop affordable housing on their land? The good folks at Trinity Community Commons in East Nashville are using their former church lot to do just that. They’re on the show today to tell us how they’re making it happen, and why it matters. 💛

if you're gonna pass a law enabling ADUs (which you should), package it with plan books and forgivable loans in exchange for affordable rents. I regret to inform Nashville that Charlotte appears to be doing something "very cool"

That settlement money could have given every public school teacher in Nashville an extra $1,300 or a 2.2% raise.
The MNPS Board determined in its annual evaluation that Dr. Adrienne Battle met district goals for student performance. That evaluation did not include discussion of the $6.5 million settlement reached in a suit against the superintendent this year.

This is a crazy interview.

I wouldn’t be surprised to see clips from this interview picked up by John Oliver or Jon Stewart in a segment about the First Amendment.

Great news on Douglas/Ellington intersection improvements.

Means I can hopefully bike to the Wash and not fear for my life.
Reviewing plans for Ellington/Douglas signalization. Huge improvement.

All it took was 6 years of effort, formal establishment of a professional Nashville DOT, and electing a transportation-focused mayor.

Seems like Steve Cohen was blindsided by Justin Pearson’s primary challenge.

Odd, considering Pearson’s been floated for that seat for years, and this is about as favorable an environment as you’ll get to primary a safe-seat Dem.

Low rent is good for everyone.

(except landlords)
Nashville has a well-documented housing shortage, with one study showing a 90,000 shortfall in homes by 2035.

But Nashville also has a shortage of commercial space, leading to ever higher commercial rents & the death of small businesses in booming neighborhoods.
