I’m so angry & heart broken. My NSF CAREER grant was stolen today; dream project supporting science teachers/students as climate justice action researchers, tackling urban heat. Truly transformative, the culmination of my life’s work, we won’t stop, not in this climate crisis. Gonna fight like hell!
Love this! It’s similar to research showing the wide range of physical, mental, emotional health benefits when ppl have access to trees/green space! This is what my terminated NSF CAREER climate justice action research project is all about, and why I’ll always fight to move this work forward!🌲🌎💚

You should take my course! We talk reparations specific to climate justice and what that might look like too. I will say, when students learn the truth in high school, college they get FIRED UP and are ready to use that knowledge to take action, create a just world. It gives me so much HOPE!

And if it wasn’t erased it’s whitewashed! I teach a climate justice course that starts with a basic question: who lives where and why? You cant understand environmental/climate injustice today w/o knowing how federal laws forcibly removed Native ppl, Black Americans were banned from owning houses

Last class of @resistanceschool.bsky.social Race, Media, and International Affairs 102 today and the finale was SO good.

If the phrase "meeting the moment" was a person, it would be Prof @karenattiah.bsky.social. What an absolute force she is.🔥

Forever grateful to have been part of this. #WeMove

As someone who had their dream NSF CAREER grant stolen, reading this rubs. DOGE took our grants, jobs, life’s work, dignity! Govt waste was never a goal, simply a cover. It was wildly successful at its real mission to ruin American science, degrade the entire federal workforce (see Russel Vought)

“Summers began his lecture with an apology for fraternizing with Epstein before proceeding with his students’ “permission” — which he seemingly never actually stopped to receive.” Same tired misogynistic game, remove him!

Great work by The Harvard Crimson editorial team…young ppl give me hope! 🔥
The Professor and the Pedophile | Opinion | The Harvard Crimson
Summers should choose the most straightforward path and resign. Should he refuse to, though, the University must cut ties with its former president to the greatest extent possible.

I will never forget having to edit Jamal’s final, posthumous piece for the Washington Post, after he was murdered.

He was calling for free expression in the Arab world. You can read it here :

The Arab world needs a modern version of the old transnational media so citizens can be informed about global events.

Haven’t we all been in that position where we’ve accidentally MURDERED THEN DISMEMBERED a human being?!!! Such vulgar disrespect for Jamal Khashoggi’s life, legacy, and family 🤬🤬🤬

Ask any woman in STEM if they, along with Sen Warren, knew Larry Summers was a misogynistic prick 20 years ago when he was president of Harvard, and let’s be clear, this institution enables and empowers these gross men and always has….from 2005:

My god, this is so complex and like dominos with so many decisions depending on others and yet the basic human right that hungry children and elderly and disabled people among others should have access to food in the richest country in the world is so, so simple 😤🥺

It just occurred to me that while future focused Democrats see Mamdani’s victory for what it is, a much needed shift towards diverse party leadership the old school Dems see this historic and energizing win as a major threat, and they are clapping back, cowards with no values, vote them out!
It was harder getting endorsements for Zohran Mamdani from Democrats than them caving to Republicans to mutually strip us of healthcare

How about we shut down the government for this very popular and specific goal and then, hear me out, we hold out for like a month and a half and then, ok this part is important, after a watershed election where we ran the table, ONLY THEN, fold and don't get the one thing we said we wanted.

Just 5 days ago Americans turned out in historic numbers to vote our values after protesting trumpism in historic numbers weeks earlier. We were loud and clear. It’s not that 8 Democrats (+ Schumer) didn’t hear us, they simply don’t care. Keep fighting, protesting, voting! Together we will RISE! 🫶🏼💪🏼
Tonight was a very bad night.

The average SNAP benefit per month is $177 a person.

The average ACA benefit per month is up to $550 a person.

People want us to hold the line for a reason. This is not a matter of appealing to a base. It’s about people’s lives.

And working people want leaders whose word means something to them.
