New— An American citizen boarding flight from Boston to Lisbon just now told me after showing boarding pass, every passenger stopped on jetway by two ICE agents demanding to take their photo. When passenger asked why, ICE threatened to detain them. If they said no photo, couldn't board/TBD detained.

A straw in the wind for CT politics: a local concrete company received a visit last week from the Governor, Lt. Governor, and State Rep and gave them a tour. The company, which has multiple, fairly active social media accounts, did not post a word about the visit.

Half the battle with this guy is just reiterating government can and already does good things that are so ubiquitous they’ve become invisible. He’s able to remind you in a way that you understand that good government can exist outside of a 24/7 vengeance operation, and in NYC already does.
Stay warm, stay safe New York.

Our town, like most in America, is full of people who claim to hate taxes. So the Board of Ed is debating a new budget with a 7% increase (due mainly to rising insurance costs). Education is 3/4th of the entire budget, so tax hikes coming. Wanna guess how many people turned out for the meetings?

Weird to be commemorating the 250th anniversary of the Am Rev while living under a government that has a) sent armed troops to occupy cities perceived to be too rebellious, b) rendered largely irrelevant the representative branch of government, and c) claimed imperial right to rule other countries.
