It took me 10 years to save up like $2k in a small investment account. Then your chronic illness gets too bad to work and that amount is gone in a month just from rent, food, util. So it’s not nothing, but it’s nowhere near enough either.
If you only have $5 a month to invest, it’ll take a lifetime at least before it’ll pay your rent. Not saying it’s not worth doing. I have such an account that I toss a few $ in when I can. But unless you get paid enough to chuck in hundreds, it’s not going to help any time soon.

Posting this short article until morale improves.
It’s possible to invest even with just like $5, but obviously you won’t get much return for it.

Those few with real money can benefit from financial knowledge, but for most of us working class organizing is the only way.
It’s true that financial literacy is important in this economy, but it’s also true that if you’re not allowed much income then most of finance is irrelevant. Your finances end up being limited to “how can I pay the rent and not be homeless?”

CVS is not offering COVID vaccines in 16 states that require CDC approval for pharmacists to give them—incl. my home state, MA.

I’m 66, w. other risk factors, & go back to the classroom next week.

If I get COVID, that will be an assault, perhaps a homicide, at RFK Jr’s, Trump’s, & the GOP’s hands.

It’s sad tho cuz the way society is I almost can’t blame some people for ending up like that, but obviously that doesn’t mean that it’s good to be.
I wonder if some of it isn’t relationship possessiveness for a fictional character being expressed in terms of the commodify everything ideology we all grow up in too.

Like they know it’d be weird to say “No, Shtola is *my* char’s gf so she can’t be yours!” so it gets expressed this way instead.
Not really. It looks to me like some people have so internalized capitalist ideology that they now think their fanfic ideas (not even a written work, just a concept!) are ownable commodities. Like, where even are we as a society???
The idea that one can “own” an OCxNPC ship is taking the concept of ownership entirely too far I think.

With alt text. If enough viewers do this, hopefully it'll send a stronger message than abandoning a handful of small channels.
It’s very telling when someone refers to a man as a man but a woman as “a female.”
I had been thinking of changing my lock screen to a character pic. Might do it now.
(Be nice if it actually posted the correct image the first time…)
Engagement bait. Post your lock screen.

Mine feels simple by comparison lol

(Edited slightly cuz people don’t need to know my mobile network)

"Nobody ever talks about it. They just do it. And you go on with your lives, ignoring the signs all around you. And then one day when the air is still and the night is fallen, they come for you."
Of course lol
no wrong answers here. i think any approach to queerness in media is fine (minus offensive caricatures...), but in the xiv rp scene i've noticed there are HUGE differences in people's approaches to the subject matter

secret bonus question: is your wol(oc) an outlet for your irl queerness? no shame!
Sessa is bisexual but it’s not really part of her narrative (need to get her a date or something eventually heh).

Kanina is lesbian, and it’s part of why she left her home village: loss of a lover to disease drove her to leave and study the healing arts.
i'm curious due to a separate thought, actually -

if your wol(oc) is queer by any definition, how important is their queerness to their narrative? is it a central focus of their character and experiences, or just a normalized thing in your writing? how does it affect the character?
