Alors que la Hongrie célébrait mardi 22 janvier la Journée de la culture hongroise, des professionnels du secteur culturel ont manifesté dans tout le pays. le gouvernement de Viktor Orban ne cesse de dire que la Hongrie figure parmi les pays européens qui investissent le plus dans la culture. Bibliothécaires, archivistes et conservateurs crient au mensonge : les salaires très bas et le manque de moyens alloués aux institutions culturelles sont en contradiction avec ce discours.

Very frustrated by the English-language coverage of the budget impasse at Taiwan's Legislative Yuan. Most articles fail to mention that the reason the government "failed in its duty to compile a budget according to the law" is because the law the opposition refers to is most likely unconstitutional.

It’s not so much that Trump & co don’t think slavery was important, they want to remove this history precisely *because* of how important it was. They don’t want people to learn about slavery because then people would understand how it continues to shape the landscape of inequality in America today.
Signs about the history of slavery in the U.S. and the 9 people George Washington enslaved are being removed right now at the President’s House Site in Philadelphia, across from Independence Hall, months after the Trump administration threatend to do so.
