ICE murdering people is simply an escalation of what we were already seeing from police every day. If you care now maybe ask yourself why you didn’t care before. If you rightly want to abolish ice maybe ask why you were so against defunding the police

I’m so thrilled that @nexusproject.bsky.social is building an antisemitism research center. We need research & leadership from Jewish orgs dedicated to Jewish safety & solidarity with other targeted groups rather than prioritizing Zionism & Israel
NEW: Today, we’re excited to announce the creation of the Nexus Center for Antisemitism Research (NCAR), which will work to improve the quality of research, data, and analysis available to advance the broader mission of confronting hate and promoting Jewish safety.
Senior ADL antisemitism researcher leaves to lead competing effort at watchdog Nexus - Jewish Telegraphic Agency
Aryeh Tuchman will direct a new Nexus research center focused on improving data, definitions and public understanding of antisemitism.

Fundamentally the government is violating privacy and bodily autonomy with their attacks on communities in the name of arresting immigrants. We should be able to walk down the street safely without producing papers. open.substack.com/pub/miabrett...

I dont think people have any concept of how impossible it is to get a job right now. Ive worked since I was 16. I have experience in multiple industries. I probably apply to dozens of jobs a month. Im shamelessly networking. There arent even adjunct courses or freelancing options

We are watching Holocaust history being rewritten in real time to justify Israel committing genocide & Trump authoritarianism. This is a form of holocaust denial wrapped up in a defense of Jewish safety

This Holocaust Remembrance Day remember that Jews died because of anti immigrant American policies. Remember it started because Jews & Romani were othered as “not German.” Remember that it began by blaming an other for economic problems. Never Again means Never Again for everyone

This January marks the 150th anniversary of what was wrongly considered the first murder trial involving Jewish immigrants in the US. Pesach Rubenstein was tried and convicted for killing Sarah Alexander who was pregnant at the time. Are there any editors interested in this?

For the 10th time. It’s important to emphasize ICE is killing US citizens not because their lives matter more or it’s ok to kill an undocumented person but because it undermines the justifications & serves to help organize resistance

The men committing the most state violence (including against women) always justify their actions based on patriarchal protection. Women in general need protection as part of the state project but individual women are disposable & sites of violence. Women are far from insulated

at least two interesting thoughts in here, I think:

1 is that yes the Constitution encompasses privacy

2 is that privacy encompasses all sorts of personal autonomy and bodily integrity issues, from abortion to not needing to hand over personally identifying information to random jackbooted thugs
Destroying Roe & weakening right to privacy is aiding the govt in this moment. We should have been saying the fundamental right to privacy is clearly implied in the 3rd, 4th, 5th, 14th amendments all along. Demanding ID w/o cause should be seen as a privacy issue

Abolish ICE is the bare minimum. Doing so wont even address 99% of state violence. But its an extreme example right now and abolishing it is necessary to even begin thinking about all the other ways the state is harming us

ICE detaining Native Americans makes complete sense when you realize ICE is about upholding the racist nation building myths of the US & not immigration. White conservatives have to recast themselves as not immigrants to justify the country’s existence in its current form

Any validating of "voter fraud" as a real issue is a step towards widespread disenfranchisement (or even wider spread). Every single voter ID law is a big deal that disenfranchises voters.

Why don’t we demand companies stop putting AI in our phones and forcing it on us? Refusing to engage in AI doesn’t make us vulnerable without knowledge-it starves AI from building on OUR knowledge
AI sits in billions of phones. Refusing to engage won't stop it, just leaves vulnerable people without knowledge. Demand ownership and control, not abstinence.
Abstinence From AI Is Not the Answer
Opinion | Refusing to use AI won’t protect society. Responsible resistance must include gaining knowledge about it.

I’ve had a lot of “what radicalized you” moments in my life but a huge one was definitely the Andrea Yates case. There’s a new doc & the tragedy of forcing a woman to continue having children through post partum eventually leading to her killing them feels horribly relevant

Its easy to say conservatives are hypocrites and the US is a nation of immigrations but doing so erases the importance of racist anti-immigrant fervor to the American identity and whitewashes our colonial past.

I’ve been saying for a while now that Kavanaugh is happy to support all kinds of bigoted shit but does also seem to care that laws don’t impact interstate commerce/travel. Seems important to keep an eye on
In the Supreme Court's trans sports cases, Brett Kavanaugh's only question so far has been about whether a decision upholding Idaho's ban would extend to other states, too, and Idaho's lawyer said no, and Kavanaugh sounded satisified, and I think that's probably the game right there

When a woman calls law enforcement because a man is following her-even a man with a history of abuse against her-they say the man is not committing a crime and can’t be stopped.
HAPPENING NOW: In federal court in MN, DOJ is struggling to articulate why a person following an ICE vehicle — so long as they are obeying traffic laws — can be stopped for "reasonable suspicion" of a crime.

Judge Menendez sharply questioning that contention.
