One thing new volunteers are often shocked to learn is that Florida and Missouri outright ban penpal programs! To make matters worse, Florida does make an exception exclusively for *Christian* penpal programs 🙄

In all seriousness, prisons operate on the ridiculous notion that every single person within it is absolutely chaste. This results in harmful policies such as those preventing the distribution of condoms inside, encouraging the spread of STIs. 🧵 1/?
