absolutely obsessed with this mail rejection from California saying that the smut we sent "lacks serious literary, artistic, political, or scientific value". we disagree! the smut we send has literary, artistic, political AND scientific value

One thing new volunteers are often shocked to learn is that Florida and Missouri outright ban penpal programs! To make matters worse, Florida does make an exception exclusively for *Christian* penpal programs 🙄

New rejection notice just dropped!

In all seriousness, prisons operate on the ridiculous notion that every single person within it is absolutely chaste. This results in harmful policies such as those preventing the distribution of condoms inside, encouraging the spread of STIs. 🧵 1/?

Prison labor is usually mandatory and often unpaid.

This May Day, we're thinking of the incarcerated workers who are exploited every single day to keep prisons running.

words from one of our Inside Collective members - we have members waiting for penpal pretty much everywhere in the US and we encourage folks to write to someone local to them when possible!

to whoever donated 1000$ to our project today - we cannot thank you enough! 😭

not only does it allow us to pay for our ever increasing costs of stamps, resource printing, etc., but the time we would have had to spend applying for grants we can spend doing direct support for queer prisoners ❤️‍🔥

Take a look at what's happening in Oklahoma

Incarcerated people & their families may save money on calls, but now have to foot the bill of e-messaging and digital copies of mail – an especially sinister reality as states implement mail scanning policies

Things have gotten much more dangerous for trans women in federal prison since Trump came into office.

As one of our inside members expresses, being denied a bra isn't just a source of dysphoria, it is enabling sexual violence towards trans women in federal prison.
