It isn't that long ago, a few years perhaps, where saying this out loud would have been career suicide. How far we have fallen in such a short time. :(
Unsurprising mask-off racism from Nick Timothy here.

Upset at the abolition of the two-child limit - because some of (British) kids who will benefit have (British) parents who are the wrong colour (were born in Pakistan, Bangladesh, Somalia, etc).

This is appalling, very disappointed by the Labour Government at this point. The language around immigration is important. Repeating Reform sound bites isn't the right way to tackle the rise of the right.
This is so disgusting.

One of the reasons why our employment law, tax and welfare system needs to encourage rather than discourage people having children. Also immigration has a part to play here. The lurch to the right is only adding to the demographic time bomb.
📈 #IFSSatStat: The number of children in the UK is expected to decline by about 7% or 800,000 between 2025 and 2035.

These declines are expected to be fastest in Scotland (8%), Wales (10%) and Northern Ireland (15%).

This stuff really is snake oil. Would be a great shame if @zackpolanski.bsky.social fell for it. Politically it’s a one way ticket to nowhere. Important under current circumstances to have an articulate and credible voice on the left. Zack needs to steer clear.

MMT matters because it reveals power – and gives us back the right to choose
I think modern monetary theory (MMT) matters. That is not because it is perfect, because no theory is. Instead, it is because it explains something that almost no one in mainstream economics has ever ...

Q: On affordability, are the American people getting impatient with the reforms that you're making?

Trump: I think they're getting fake news from guys like you. Affordability is a hoax that was started by Democrats.

The BBC must reassert its independence and learn to resist political interference and stand up for robust scrutiny and news values.

The Culture Sec Lisa Nandy must also resist Trumpian pressure in appointing the new DG. It's messy and the Beeb is in trouble, but we should fight for its future.
