This glorious vision of a city for people deserves a repost again and again, not just on World Car-Free-Day!

🚲 Today is World Car-Free Day!

Have you ever imagined a city designed for people, not cars?

Greenpeace Seoul teamed up with Korean cartoon artist @lazy.drawing to bring this vision to life 👇

Disgraceful, dishonest and disinfromation - not a suprise for Trump, but deeply worrying. Please share widely.

It’s simple, 20mph zones work. We all know it. Pedestrians and cyclists deserve to feel safe on the street. Make London safe. @london.gov.uk @cycleislington.uk @livingstreets.bsky.social

Dear Britain, it’s now clear: 20mph zones save lives & don’t slow traffic. Implement them.— @sadiqkhanlondon.bsky.social.

“Despite what detractors might claim, 20mph speed limits haven’t actually made journeys slower because journey times are largely dictated by junction delays, not vehicle speed.”
Dear Britain, it’s now clear: 20mph zones save lives and don’t slow traffic. Implement them | Sadiq Khan
There is too much bluff and bluster on this subject. Ordinary people just want safe streets for themselves and those they love, and we can achieve that, says London mayor Sadiq Khan

“In Finland, the number of homeless people has fallen sharply. Those affected receive a small apartment & counselling with no preconditions. 4 out of 5 people affected make their way back into a stable life. And all this is CHEAPER than accepting homelessness.”

It costs a lot less to house people.
Finland ends homelessness and provides shelter for all in need - scoop.me
In Finland, the number of homeless people has fallen sharply. Why? The country applies the "Housing First" concept agains homelessness.

It's not ideal that the one person in the entire world that Trump is willing to listen to is Vladimir Putin.

Q: Are you optimistic that a deal will emerge from this Russia meeting?

Here’s a tip. Siding with the illegal, genocidal invader and pressuring the heroic nation that was invaded to give up stolen land in a fake “peace deal” won’t win you a Nobel Peace Prize, Donald. It makes you complicit in the invasion and genocide, and a at best a puppet of the genocidal invader.

Nieuwmarkt, Amsterdam in 1982 and today
In 1982 there is a car lane with car parking, a cycle track with barriers and cars parked on the square. Today, no car parking and the cycle track removed due to the low volume of motor traffic in the area

De Ruijterkade, Amsterdam Centraal station, in 2003 and today
In 2003 it is a road behind Amsterdam Centraal station, today it is a cycle path behind it.

Commercial cooking is one of the major contributors of air pollution 2.5pm in Islington which is highly damaging to health. Dark kitchens are increasing in densely population residential areas and you can see the spike in pollution in Barnsbury where dark kitchens are increasing

My beloved @bromptonbicycle.bsky.social was stolen in #islington just before Christmas.
I got another one, but you’ll never guess what happened, the bolt from
the frame was stolen! 😲
So it’s unusable, cos the thing with these bikes is, they fold! 🤯

Never mind spending millions shaving seconds off drivers' journeys. The complexity of working out how not to spend £££ on a train ticket, while travelling with a bike, can waste hours. I discovered it's cheaper to pay to stay over the night before, and somehow my ticket was less on MS Edge vs Chrome

I missed this - honestly? Sacking people who maintain seed banks and genetic diversity of crops? 🌿🌱🌾🪴

Generations of dedicated public servants have, unseen by the general public, done all kinds of extraordinary things that benefit all of us—like preserving the genetic diversity of crop species that sustain humanity.

Musk is blindly slashing it all.
