My thoughts are with everyone across our community who has been impacted by the appalling attacks at Heaton Park Synagogue and Peacehaven Community Mosque in recent days.

We must not allow these awful acts, designed to fuel hatred, to divide us. It is more important than ever that we stand in solidarity and be clear in our message - there is absolutely no place for hate in our communities.

Following local concerns that have been shared with me, I have been in direct contact with the offices of the Prime Minister and Home Secretary, as well as the Minister for Security, to raise these issues.

I will be raising these issues directly with Ministers when Parliament returns. If anyone in Luton South and South Bedfordshire has specific concerns they wish to raise with me, please contact my office via Rachel.Hopkins.mp@parliament.uk

The Armed Forces Commissioner Bill has completed its final parliamentary stage and will soon become law.

The Commissioner will be an independent champion for our Armed Forces and their families, serving as a voice for welfare issues and helping to improve everyday service life.
