Not surprised. The heat in France this year & last was brutal and we watched grapes turning into raisins on the vine. There are now gaps where vines used to be.

2 weeks ago I lost Treacle. She was under my desk at work, beside my bed at night & there when I traveled. She even fell in love with Simon before I did. Every day was unconditional love. I’ve never experienced grief like this. Thank God no-one has been stupid enough to say ‘she was only a dog’.

I wonder whether Starmer et al look at @zackpolanski.bsky.social out in the US engaging politicians & media with his articulate, engaging and progressive message of hope and reflect on the fact that they sent Peter Mandelson.
