Recipe in alt text. This is an 11/10 recipe I got from a grandma Geop aaaaages ago

I grouped each of the ingredients by steps/separation here.

> 1/2 cup butter, softened (room-temp) (1 stick) (112g)
> 1/2 cup shortening (95g)
> 1.5 cups white sugar (180g)

> 2 eggs
> 2 teaspoons vanilla extract (I sometimes use 1 Tablespoon)

> 2 3/4 cups all-purpose flour (330g)
> 2 teaspoons cream of tartar / white vinegar / lemon juice
> 1 teaspoon baking soda (NOT powder!)
> 1/4 teaspoon salt

Coating:
> 3 Tablespoons sugar
> 3.5 teaspoons cinnamon

400° Fahrenheit/205° Celsius, 8-10 minutes

Directions
1) Cream together/mix the butter & shortening before adding in the sugar. This might get messy with a hand-mixer, so use a tall bowl if you can.

2) Scrape down the sides of the bowl, and add in the eggs and vanilla. Mix to combine.

3) In a separate bowl, combine your dry ingredients. Cream of tartar isn't in every pantry, so to speak, so another acid of sorts can be used (ie: white vinegar) if need be.

4) Add your dry ingredients to the wet, mixing as you do so. It'll give you a tacky dough, but it's manageable by hand. Refrigerate to make it easier to handle, if necessary.

5) In a zip-lock baggie or a small bowl, mix the sugar and cinnamon blend.

6) With a scoop/spoon, take out a walnut-sized ball of dough. Drop it into the blend and turn to coat. Place on baking sheet and flatten out a tiny bit if desired.

7) Bake at 400°F/205°C for 8-10 minutes.
