ANNOUNCMENT TIME

A new public build of PAX RODENTIA, a classical roguelike in which you play as a small field mouse, is now available on quiggy.itch.io. This represents six months of work and is a significant technological overhaul of the version I published in November.

Here's how to identify some crowd control munitions, canisters of which federal agents have left on the ground after deploying them against people in Minnesota. bit.ly/3YWp1jE

it's not as simple as a magic number you need to hit but studies suggest that it takes roughly 3.5% of the population fighting back to prevent democratic backsliding. this is an extremely encouraging stat out of Hennepin County.
This is a wild stat. It's a ratio of 15-20 observers per ICE/CBP agent.

The entire adult population of Hennepin County is about 1 million. This suggests 6-7% of adults in the county have undergone some measure of observation training.

Crazy level of community activation.

In order to identify HC tear gas, there are three characteristics, according to an expert:

• An intense orange-colored, metallic fire coming from the canister as it’s burning.
• Fire that emits sparks and burns considerably hotter and longer than other grenades.
• A white, gray or black smoke.
Federal agents are heavily deploying chemical irritants. What are the health consequences?
Munitions experts say ingredients can vary and can be considered proprietary.

i bet it feels really good to spend weeks away from your family in subzero temperatures breaking up families and getting yelled at and whistles at and interrupted every moment of your waking life and to be told you're a murderer. we should definitely keep doing these things to make them feel good

not sharing the poster because they don't deserve hate but holy god if Sinners was the first time you realized vampire stories can be about more than drinking blood and turning into bats you might not make it in society

"people facing brutal armed oppression respond similarly regardless of geographical or cultural differences" is not the intellectual coup these people think it is
MAGA military geniuses are talking about Minnesota protestors like they are the Iraqi insurgency, the Taliban, and the Viet Cong all rolled into one.

it is impossible to miss the difference between the names you see in newspaper headlines and the names you don't see in newspaper headlines
Four months of shootings and deaths. This doesn't even count the neglect and death in their concentration camps. Fuck. This. Shit.

if you said these things and got paid for it then you need to go away. literally if “woke mind virus” is something youve ever said unironically you need to go away

I've been to a fair few protests over the years and folks there is an energy in the air right now that has not existed over that time. People are angry.

We're going to win.
Crowd is massive, now overflowing Congress Plaza and taking up a block-long stretch of Michigan Avenue.

Reminder: this event was only announced yesterday.

Saying there must be trials isn't just an emotive aspiration.

Congress can:
- Create a new court (complying w/ 6A jury vicinage)
- Give it jurisdiction over defined category of crimes
- Also create dedicated prosecutors for the same
- Strip SCOTUS of appellate jurisdiction

It can be done.

I keep thinking “my god the people they’ve killed seem like exceptionally good folks” and I think the lesson there is that they’re not exceptional, but that wonderful people abound and that a baseline distrust in humanity is a shitty conservative trope that privileges power over collective strength
you don't become a martyr because you were a saint, you become a saint because you were martyred
I agree that we can’t make Alex Pretti a Benedictine monk because that’s a trap, but we can talk about the good things we did because people will see and hear them and think “I do those things too”
