Perfect ending to birthday week! I’m releasing my 2nd novel, “Strength of a Vampire,” in the “Seattle Vampire Tales” series. If you liked “Being a Vampire,” you’ll like this one. Picks up where the 1st left off, with my vampire facing a new future. As we all are as the calendar turns over to 2025.

I’m feeling the impact of the new Medicare rule that eliminates virtual visits to caregivers. My current appointment was deleted, and my new in person one isn’t until February. This “cost savings” measure that will overwhelmingly impact disabled folks is incurring a huge cost to reschedule folks.

I thought I had a pretty solid understanding of our treatment of Native Americans, but this explains way more about the politics of the g*cide(s). So far, the most shocking part has been to clearly see the parallels to the ongoing colonization. Again, something I thought I understood.

In my frequent rest times, I’ve given up listening to the news and switched to reading audiobooks (since my eyes are kinda wrecked by spike proteins inhabiting my ACE-2 receptors). Right now, I’m immersed in “An Indigenous People’s History of the United States,” by Roxanne Dunbar-Ortiz.
