One thing you can do to support the preservation of history even if you can't visit the Smithsonian or National Historic Site is to learn your local history. They can't hide, erase, or "reconstruct" everything.

Trump executive order seeks to 'restore' American history through Smithsonian overhaul
The "Restoring Truth and Sanity to American History" order removes "divisive, race-centered ideology" from Smithsonian museums, educational and research centers, and the National Zoo.

"Anniversaries" of terrible events pop up in strange ways. You might feel sad or snap at your spouse for no reason...then you remember.

I am wearing the same sweater I wore to accompany a loved one on an ambulance ride this day in 2019.

We're both better now. ☀️

Strayed outside my usual, DNF, learned a new term.

Started Mountains Made of Glass. I dig fantasy and I'm a sucker for "enemies to lovers," but not when it's coerced. I looked at some reviews and one used "dubcon" for "dubious consent."

Some fun characters and banter but not worth it.
