It's important to remember that Sudan's revolutionaries had very clear socialist demands for economic justice- nationalizing Sudan's mines & natural resources no foreign interference, civilian rule, and for their labor to enrich their communities through free & accessible social infrastructure.

When Mariame Kaba told us that hope is a discipline, I always understood that to mean "I am hopeful in so far as I do". I have never felt an unfounded optimism, but organizing for 20+ years has showed me that so much more is possible.

A lot of people getting snatched up by the thugs at ICE are parents, doing elder care, or caregiving for disabled people. I've been strategizing all morning with folks who are doing mutual aid and care work to make sure that folks are looked after in the event that their loved ones get kidnapped.
